What tokens can I use in the pattern?: 13 tokens are available: {n} and {n:3} for auto-incrementing numbers with custom padding, {N} for total count, {name} for original filename, {ext} for extension, {date} and {time} for current date/time, {exif:date}, {exif:camera}, {exif:iso} for photo metadata, {size} for file size in KB, and {w}/{h} for image dimensions.
Can I rename photos by the date they were taken?: Yes. Use the {exif:date} token in your pattern (or pick the 'Travel + EXIF date' preset). The tool reads the DateTimeOriginal EXIF tag from each photo and formats it as YYYY-MM-DD. Falls back to file modified date if EXIF is missing.
Is there a file limit?: No file count limit. Single file download is free; downloading multiple files as a ZIP requires a Pro account ($9/month). EXIF reading and pattern preview are unlimited regardless of plan.
Can I do find & replace with regular expressions?: Yes. Switch to 'Find & Replace' mode and toggle the Regex checkbox. Standard JavaScript regex syntax is supported (e.g. ^IMG_(\d+) → photo-$1). Case sensitivity is also a separate toggle.
What happens if two files end up with the same new name?: The tool automatically appends -2, -3, etc. to avoid filename collisions. Conflicting renames are highlighted in amber in the preview list so you can spot them before downloading.
