Convert DNG RAW photos to JPG β Free, No Upload, In-Browser.
Open RAW ConverterDNG (Digital Negative) is Adobe's open and universal RAW format. It is used natively by DJI drones, Leica cameras, many smartphones (including Pixel and OnePlus in Pro mode), Ricoh/Pentax bodies, and some Hasselblad models. It is also the archival format that Lightroom offers when importing from proprietary RAW formats. DNG files are 10 to 40 MB and cannot be opened in most everyday apps. Converting DNG to JPG gives you a compact, share-ready photo that works everywhere β while the built-in demosaicing and white balance ensure the result looks accurate, not flat.
DNG files can store 12 or 16 bit linear or gamma-encoded pixel data depending on the source. SammaPix reads the DNG's embedded colour data and white balance, performs demosaicing, applies tone mapping to the 8 bit JPG range, and exports at your chosen quality. At quality 90 to 95 the output is excellent for sharing, web, and print. Keep your DNG files if you need to make creative adjustments in Lightroom or any other DNG-compatible editor.

What is a DNG file?
DNG (Digital Negative) is an open RAW format created by Adobe in 2004 as a universal alternative to proprietary RAW formats like NEF, ARW, and CR2. It is adopted natively by DJI drones, Leica M-series cameras, Google Pixel phones (Pro mode), and many other devices. Lightroom can also convert any proprietary RAW to DNG during import.
Does converting DNG to JPG lose quality?
You move from 12β16 bit RAW data to 8 bit JPG, so some editing headroom is reduced. The visible photo at quality 90 to 95 looks excellent for display, social sharing, and print. SammaPix applies the embedded white balance so the output looks natural. Keep the original DNG for future editing.
Can I convert DNG files from a DJI drone?
Yes. DJI drones (Mavic, Air, Mini, and Inspire series) all produce standard DNG files that libraw handles natively. The tone mapping is optimised for the wide dynamic range typical of aerial drone shots.
Is it safe to convert my DNG files in a browser?
Yes. The entire conversion runs inside your browser using a WebAssembly build of libraw. Your DNG files are never uploaded to any server. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool still works.
Can I convert multiple DNG files at once?
Yes. Drop a batch of DNG files on the RAW Converter, choose JPG, and download all results as a ZIP. The free plan handles up to 20 files; Pro handles up to 500.
